In a message from Mark Sheldon ...

I have the sad duty to let you know that our fellow barbershopper Bob Calderwood passed away Tuesday night, March 18, 2014. My understanding is that he had been readmitted to the hospital earlier that day for treatment of complications from chemotherapy, and passed from apparent heart failure.

Bob was a central figure in the Orange Quartet, Fullerton, and most recently South (Orange) County Chapters, as a singer (including more organized quartets than I can name offhand) as well as a chapter leader and event organizer. The Orange Chapter certainly owes many improvements in our programs, and has greater public visibility today, thanks to his initiatives.

If I may add a personal note, it was a real pleasure and honor to sing with Bob in the Wavemakers quartet and in other quartet combinations. He was a great singing partner, collaborator, and friend.

The Memorial Service will be held:

Monday, March 24, 2014
Starting at 11:00 am, at
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
9801 S. Newport Blvd.
Santa Ana, CA 92705

Here's a link to the location that I've found on Google Maps

Let's all keep Bob's wife Carol and all his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

Best to all
Mark
