A GOLD RUSH IS COMING AND WE’RE BRINGING THE HEAT! 🔥
The Association of Far Western District Champions (AFWDC) is proud to launch Gold Rush, a brand new elite coaching weekend built in the spirit of elevating our craft, all with that signature Far Western District flair.
- When: August 22–24, 2025
- Where: DoubleTree by Hilton, Fullerton, CA
- Who: The top 8 scoring quartets from the collective Far Western District division contests will be contacted this coming Monday morning (May 20, 2025).
The first 8 quartets will be given one week to respond and after that vacancies will become available to the next highest scoring quartet past the top 8 on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us for this world-class coaching weekend!
We’re also thrilled to congratulate Rhapsody, our highest scoring senior quartet from the collective FWD division contests, on receiving an immediate invite to Gold Rush. We can’t wait to have you!
Here’s what you can expect:
- 9 total coaches, organized into all three categories:
- Music
- Performance
- Singing
- Most of our coaching staff includes in-house Far Western District judges and respected coaches, all friends of the AFWDC and champions of the barbershop craft.
- A weekend full of intense, personalized, and inspiring education with some of the best minds right here in from our very own District!
And to cap it all off...
On Saturday night, we’ll host the always electric and famous Go For The Gold Show, featuring:
- Every quartet that was coached throughout the weekend
- The very contest songs they worked on that weekend
- Performances from AFWDC champion quartets
- Surprises, Good times, and More!
Cost: $400 per quartet
(Note: Fee does not include hotel or meals, but it does include some of the best coaching you’ll ever receive in one weekend.)

This weekend is more than a coaching event, it’s a chance to achieve greatness with some of the best coaches in the society before heading into the FWD Fall Contest in Fresno. Our mission is simple: The AFWDC aims to build better singers, better performers, and stronger bonds as a Far Western District. We also aim to party like rockstars but we all already knew that right?!
